Autistic Art Exhibition at Stanley Picker Gallery: Project Leader and Curator

29th May - 1st June 2024

as intern for Kingston University's Autism Peer Network, helping with administration of the group and advertising, we decided to collaborate with Stanley Picker Gallery to hold an 'autistic art exhibition' - Autism Assemble!

a huge variety of both artists and types of art were displayed at the exhibition, from film to comic to sculpture, and all age groups, even as young as 4 - see 'I wonder what we can't see? - yet all of us were autistic!

See the exhibition page on the Stanley Picker Gallery site

As Project Leader and Curator for the exhibition, it was my job to recruit artists to take part, mainly through posters around the university. 16 autistic Kingston University students from a variety of courses (even non-art) took part, as well as pupils from Surbiton Hill Primary School and members from United Response Kingston. Our Open event was successful with university students, tutors, and complete strangers coming to see the variety of creative work  on show, showcasing how unique and interesting autistic-made work is.
